Simple and Easy Pretzel Bites

August 16, 2025 By Grumpy

Here’s a super simple recipe for pretzel bites using grocery store biscuits (like Pillsbury Grands or similar).

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (8-count works well)

  • 6 cups water

  • 4 tbsp baking soda

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

  • Coarse salt (pretzel salt or kosher salt)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Dough

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    • Cut each biscuit into 4–6 pieces (depending on how big you want the bites). Roll into small balls.

  2. Boil with Baking Soda

    • In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.

    • Drop biscuit pieces in batches (about 10–12 at a time). Boil for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.

  3. Bake the Pretzels

    • Place boiled pieces on the prepared baking sheet.

    • Brush with beaten egg for a shiny crust.

    • Sprinkle with coarse salt.

  4. Finish

    • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until deep golden brown.

    • Serve warm with mustard, cheese dip, or your favorite sauce.

👉 Optional: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar instead of salt for a sweet version.
