Super simple and easy to make…
Ingredients:
-
1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
-
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
-
3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (more or less as needed)
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 tablespoon garlic powder (adjust to taste)
-
1 tablespoon onion powder (adjust to taste)
-
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
-
Additional cheese for topping
Instructions:
-
Activate the Yeast
In a large bowl, gently mix the active dry yeast into the warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy. -
Make the Dough
Add flour, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to the yeast mixture. Stir gently until a shaggy dough forms. Don’t overmix—just combine until all flour is incorporated. -
Add the Cheese
Mix in the shredded cheese gently until evenly distributed throughout the dough. -
Shape and Rise
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Place each portion into a greased 9″ x 5″ loaf pan. Cover with a damp, clean dish towel and place in a warm spot (a microwave with the light on works great). Let rise for 1 ½ hours. -
Bake
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
Bake the loaves for 20 minutes, or until the tops begin to brown. -
Add More Cheese
Sprinkle additional cheese on top of the loaves and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden. -
Cool and Serve
Remove the loaves from the pans and place them on a cooling rack. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
💡 Tips:
-
Use parchment paper or nonstick spray to make loaf removal easier.
-
Try adding chopped chives, parsley, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
-
Great served warm with soups, salads, or just on its own!
