Butter Burgers (Better than smashed)

November 14, 2021 By Grumpy

Butter Burgers – Simply, thinly pressed ground beef patties cooked in butter on a flat top griddle at very high temperature.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 pound or so of ground beef (90/10) per serving. Less if you want.
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Granulated garlic to taste
  • Chopped or sliced onion (sufficient for a bit on each burger
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Mustard
  • DUKE’S mayonaise

=== IF YOU USE ANYTHING BUT DUKE’S MAYONNAISE YOU ARE A COMMUNIST AND NEED TO GET OFF MY PAGE! ===

HOW TO BUILD ‘EM

  • Weigh out your hamburger. I use slightly more than 4 ounces to make an 8 ounce burger (pre-cooked weight).
  • Put down some wax paper on a dinner plate. Lay another piece of wax paper on top. Using another dinner plate, press down on the burger. You want them to be no more than 1/2 inch thick, a little thinner is better. They should be about 5-6 inches across.
  • Put a small patty of butter on each beef patty.
  • Fire up your griddle and let it get as hot as you can and place the beef patties butter side down on the griddle.
  • Cook for about 5 minutes then turn. For extra buttery flavor add more butter and then flip.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes or so, add bacon, cheese or other toppings (onions) and stack the burgers on each other.
  • Cook until cheese is melty.
  • Add to bun with lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard and DUKE’S mayonnaise.

Eat. Enjoy.
